The Affordable Care Act appears to be in chaos. First there were major problems with HealthCare.gov, the federal health exchange web site. Then, President Obama came under political fire for reneging on his promise, “If you like your health insurance, you can to keep it,” as millions of customers receive cancellation notices.
Last week, President Obama announced that, for a year, insurance companies can offer plans that don’t meet the new law’s standards. For the House, that wasn’t enough. It voted for a plan to allow companies to offer such plans indefinitely.
