The Aurora police and paramedics who stopped Elijah McClain on Aug. 24, 2019, failed him, according to a 32-page criminal indictment filed Wednesday in Adams County District Court. The charges in McClain's death include manslaughter and criminally-negligent homicide.

State Representative Leslie Herod, D-Denver, sponsored police reform legislation that both was sparked by the McClain case and thay may affect the direction it takes.
