The Broncos' new stadium announcer, Conor McGahey, also calls games for the Colorado Buffs football team.

If you've ever closed your eyes and dreamed it was you shouting "Touchdown!" or "Goalllllll......." at an epic sporting event, you'll probably envy Conor McGahey's new gig.

Starting new week, he's the official stadium announcer for the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos. That'll make him, by definition, one of the most recognizable voices in Colorado and, given the Broncos' popularity, beyond.

But McGahey says he doesn't want to be the star of the show. He describes his style as a blend of personality and professionalism that's meant to keep the attention on the game at hand.

McGahey grew up in Colorado and started calling high school games when he was 14. As a student at the University of Denver he caught the ear of Broncos' announcer Alan Roach. That friendship helped launch McGahey's career as an announcer and broadcaster for many Colorado teams, ranging from the CU Buffaloes to Colorado Mammoth lacrosse. McGahey has even called a few Broncos games through the years, filling in for his friend Roach. Now, Roach has left to work for the Minnesota Vikings and the Broncos have tapped McGahey as his successor. He starts with the August 27 game against the Los Angeles Rams.
