Funeral services are being held for late Lt. Governor Joe Rogers. He served from 1999 through 2003. He was the last of Colorado’s lieutenant governors to be elected separately; now, they run on the same ticket as gubernatorial candidates.
When he served, Rogers, a Republican, was the youngest person ever in the U.S. to be a lieutenant governor. He was hospitalized last week with back pain, and he died of complications. He was 49-years-old. Ryan Warner speaks with Fred Brown about Joe Rogers' legacy. Brown covered politics at the Denver Post while Rogers was in office.
