Lake City is a tiny town in the mountains of southwest Colorado. Many of the town’s residents are artists. But the area used to be populated by silver miners. So it's no wonder the town’s new economic development idea aims to fuse past with present. Kristi Borchers lives in Lake City, and has been working on the project. As she explains to CPR's Zachary Barr, the plan took a big step forward earlier this month when the old mine was donated to Hinsdale county.
