Tony Ortega's art. The visual artist grew up in northwest Denver and he likes to draw on his Mexican heritage and his American upbringing, sometimes contrasting the two cultures. Ortega, who is an associate professor of painting, design and drawing at Regis University in Denver, tells Colorado Matters that he tries to bring a sense of place, community and identity to everything he creates.
