Lastfall, a bulldozer operator uncovered a bone near Snowmass Village. It was a little clue to a big underground trove of Ice Age plants and animals. For scientists at the Denver Museum of Nature andScience the discovery was a lifelong dream. But they couldn’t dig up or analyze all the bones on their own, so they’re relying on trained volunteers to help. Ryan Warner speaks with volunteers Mike and Liz Lacey of Denver, who've spent hundreds of hours in the museum lab, and with Curator of Paleontology Ian Miller. The dig -- suspended for the winter -- resumes later this month.
