Colorado has roughly 200 tax breaks, from affordable housing to bingo equipment, and Rep. KC Becker, D-Boulder, wants to know if they're a good deal for the state. She plans to resurrect a measure that's been killed before, a bill to review tax breaks in Colorado to see if each accomplishes its purpose. She also wants to know if there are other ways the state could meet its goals.
A similar measure had both Democrat and Republican sponsors last year, and passed the House unanimously before failing in the Senate. Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner spoke with Becker as part of a series of interviews about bills that failed in previous years and will be reintroduced in the legislative session that starts Jan. 13.
