The Colorado unemployment rate hit 9.1% in January, inching it above the national average of 9% for the month. The Gazette reports that the unemployment rate in Colorado Springs hit a record 10.2% in January...Governor John Hickenlooper says state employees and contractors will have to make more sacrifices as the state grapples with the economy...and, Colorado's senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennet, both Democrats, have sent a letter to Secretary of the Army John McHugh asking for reassurance in writing that the Army is not seeking to expand the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site.
