71-Year-Old Shares Passion for Dance at Colorado State Fair

August 24, 2012

The Colorado State Fair begins today in Pueblo. Amid the livestock shows, carnival rides, monster trucks and big name bands, there’s a small outdoor stage that features Colorado entertainers. Anita McCoy of Canon City performs there. She's tap danced with her students at the Fair for more than 30 years, and on Sunday she’ll be there again. The 71-year-old McCoy has been dancing for nearly her whole life, and even had a nationally televised spot on America’s Got Talent last year with a hula hoop routine. KRCC’s Shanna Lewis visited with McCoy at her studio in Canon City as she and her students were getting ready for the Fair, and sent us this audio profile.
