Pueblo County Recall Voters Head to the Polls

· Sep. 5, 2013, 11:27 am

Colorado’s first state legislative recall election has started.  Last Friday, Pueblo County began allowing in-person voting at the county’s elections office for the recall against Democratic State Senator Angela Giron. Ten voter service centers will open Thursday.

Giron and Democrat John Morse of Colorado Springs are up for recall September 10th because of their support for new gun restrictions.

Several lawsuits and court orders over the process have delayed organizing the elections, so there will be no automatically-mailed ballots. Instead, voters will head to the polls in person. CPR's Anna Hanel spoke with Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert Ortiz.
