Sounds of the Stock Show: Bull rider Luis Ramos

· Jan. 13, 2015, 2:20 pm

Luis Ramos, from Greeley, Colorado, competed in the bull riding competition during the Mexican Rodeo Extravaganza on Sunday.
Ramos, 22, started riding bulls about a year ago; this is his fifth competition. Despite the danger, Ramos says bull riding is still fun.
“I usually try to practice at least twice or three times a month for an hour or two. It takes a lot out of you. You've just got to be focused, that’s the first thing. You might be a little scared, but once you’re in there just focus and ride it out. I actually got into it just for the joy of it, to get that adrenaline rush. You make a little bit of money, but it’s no biggie. It’s just another hobby for me.”
The National Western Stock Show runs through next weekend. Check here for more Sounds of the Stock Show installments.
