around 200 galleries, studios and other creative spaces now call home -- and Saturday marks the district's ninth annual Art Safari.

This rapid growth, with an accompanying spike in real estate values, and a movement to formalize a Business Improvement District for the area, has some artists fearing being forced out of the very community they helped revitalize.
