Fort Collins officer’s stalking conviction leads to screening changes

Fort Collins Police Chief John Hutto says new police officers will face more intense psychological screening and background checks after one of his officers was convicted of stalking. The department previously relied on investigations done by outside agencies.

Hutton tells the Fort Collins Coloradoan that the psychological screening process will be more comprehensive and performed early in the hiring process.
