Governor’s Signature Launches Wildfire Research Project

If researchers can accomplish that, their findings could make it easier to fight fires, and tell emergency managers who and where to evacuate first in an emergency. Researchers at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder would work on the technology. As the bill moved through the Legislature it was amended to focus only on fires and not floods as well. Funding was reduced from $10 million to $3 million over five years.
