Obama Commutes Sentence Of Broncos Player’s Mother

Denver Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas got some good news Monday. His mother, Katina Stuckey Smith, is one of 46 people whose prison sentence has been shortened by President Barack Obama, reports the Denver Post.

In a video, the President says he commuted the 46 sentences because their sentences didn't fit their crime. "If they'd been sentenced under today's laws, nearly all of them would have served their time," he said.

Thomas posted the news to his Facebook:

God is good.. Great news today, My Best lady come home November 10.. Godbless..

The Post reports that Thomas' mother has been in prison since 2000 for drug trafficking.
