Auto sales, a key indicator of the health of the economy, are up about 5 percent for the first half of the year in Colorado compared to a year ago. New car and truck registrations also rose about 7 percent in June compared to the same month in 2014.

The Colorado Automobile Dealers Association says it appears new vehicle registrations will set a record by the end of 2015. The reasons? Higher consumer confidence, job gains, relatively low gas prices and easier access to credit.
