CU Boulder Gets $1M From NASA To Make Space Videos

The University of Colorado is receiving $1 million from NASA to develop educational videos about space-related discoveries that will be distributed to planetariums across the nation.

The Times-Call reports that the money will go to the Boulder university's Fiske Planetarium, where staff and students will produce two- to four-minute videos.

According to a news release, the short, full-dome videos are meant to reach the public and students in an effort to improve science literacy and show new discoveries. The videos will be distributed to more than 200 planetariums.

The university says about 20 million people visit planetariums each year, but most facilities lack the resources to create such videos featuring new discoveries.

CU-boulder is one of 27 partners selected by NASA to promote science education.
