Colorado Supreme Court Affirms Delta County Town’s Chicken Farms

· Oct. 14, 2015, 7:23 pm

The Colorado Supreme Court has upheld a lower court's decision allowing controversial chicken farms in Delta County to continue operations.

The Grand Junction Sentinel reports that the dispute started in 2011, when a family asked for county permission to open two single-barn egg-laying farms on mesas near Hotchkiss. Neighbors tried to shut down the farms, arguing that the Delta County Board of Commissions made a biased decision on the issue.
