Muralist Eric Bransby, 98, smiles inside his home on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014.

the Colorado Springs muralist who hasn't put down his brushes even in his late 90s, will be the subject of a new documentary set to be released next fall.

The Gazette reports that a "Reel West" episode on Bransby, 99, will air on Colorado Public Television.

Director Jay Kriss, a 1981 Cheyenne Mountain High School graduate, counts himself as lucky. Often a filmmaker doesn't have such a good source.

"The best way to hear history is to hear it from the horse's mouth - the man who actually created it," Kriss said.

Late last year, CPR News' Chloe Veltman called Bransby "one of the last living links to the great age of American mural painting." Read her profile of the artist here.
