75 Dogs Removed From Adams County Home

Authorities have seized 75 dogs from an Adams County home after the owner was cited for operating a pet animal facility without the proper licensing.

The Denver Post reports animal control officers and sheriff's deputies removed the dogs, which were reported to be in "pretty good health," on Thursday. There were 90 dogs total on the property near Strasburg. It is unclear why only some of the animals were taken.

Adams County spokesman Jim Siedlecki says the owner, who has not been identified, was cited by theColorado Department of Agriculture's Pet Animal Care Facilities Act program.

A judge ordered the dogs to be removed earlier this month.

The dogs are undergoing health evaluations at an Adams County animal shelter and will eventually be put for adoption.
