Republican presidential candidate, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., joined by Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., left, applauds while listening to a speaker at a rally, Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, in Johnston, Iowa.

Gardner deflected the question, instead reiterating his support for Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio. So Wall Street Journal reporter Reid Epstein asked again. And again. On the seventh try, Epstein got his answer:

"What I know is, I will support the Republican nominee. If you’re concerned that Donald Trump is not going to be the Republican nominee because he runs as a third party, I think you’ve gotten your answer," Gardner said.
