It's almost Fourth of July, and you know what that means: backyard BBQs, fireworks and ... skiing?

You read that right. Arapahoe Basin will celebrate its closing day on July 4, the ski area announced on Twitter on Thursday, wrapping up an even longer season than usual brought on by late-summer snow storms.

The ski area is bringing in Frisco Funk for live music to celebrate the end of the season.

Skiers and snowboarders can hit Arapahoe Basin's slopes ahead of Independence Day on the weekend of June 28-30. Lifts open at 8:30 a.m. and shut down 2:30 p.m.

Up-to-date terrain information can be found on the Arapahoe Basin website.
