A person is dead after a police shooting in Watkins, east of Aurora, according the Adams County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities say the suspect has been taken to a hospital after being shot by a deputy. The shooting happened after deputies located an allegedly stolen vehicle and pursued it, according to a statement posted on Facebook by Adams County Sheriff's Office.
A preliminary investigation found that the driver allegedly fired at deputies several times, before the person was shot.
The deceased person has not been identified was not immediately identified and no further details about the shooting have been released. Officials say no deputies were injured.
