Morning Post:
---Huerfano And Las Animas County Health Officials Add Self-Quarantine Order For Travelers---
Health officials in Huerfano and Las Animas counties want residents who recently traveled out of the state for 24 hours or more or to COVID-19 hotspots in Colorado, to self-quarantine for 14 days.
In a health order issued earlier this week, officials in the Southern Colorado counties say that due to the contagious nature of the new coronavirus, the more localized directives are necessary to help protect public health and preserve the capacity of local health care systems.
This is in addition to state and federal measures already in place.
Named hotspots under the self-quarantine rule include Colorado Springs, Denver, and Arapahoe County.
Health officials also want visitors to the southern Colorado region to return home and those thinking of traveling there to remain home.
Currently in Huerfano County, there is one known positive case of COVID-19 according to state data. None in Las Animas County.
---Latest State Numbers Indicate 69 Deaths In Colorado---
The latest data from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) indicates 2966 known cases of COVID-19 across 50 counties in the state. That represents an increase of 339 known cases, and three new counties. 509 people are hospitalized and 69 people have died. There are 16 known outbreaks at residential and non-hospital healthcare facilities.
The data is complete through Mon., March 30, and includes people who have had a positive test result, as well as cases where public health officials have determined infection is likely because someone showed symptoms of the disease and had close contact with someone who tested positive. CDPHE says the number of epidemiologically linked cases is a small portion of the reported cases.
