I-70 will close at 9 a.m. at Vail Pass for avalanche mitigation

There will be a closure on I-70 Vail Pass Monday morning at 9 a.m for traffic in both directions. CDOT anticipates the closure will last an hour. The closure point for eastbound traffic will be at Exit 176 (Vail), with a CMV closure at Exit 180 (East Vail). The closure point for westbound traffic will be at Exit 195 (Copper Mountain/Leadville/CO 91). CDOT says the closure is for avalanche mitigation. Much of the High Country is still under avalanche warning this Monday morning.
