Event Description

The Manitou Springs Heritage Center and Museum proudly introduces its exhibit, " A Tribute to the Vahsholtz Family-Three Generations of Racing” featuring the photography of Bob Jackson and Jim Bensberg. Join us for Pikes Peak International Hill Climb month at the Manitou Springs Heritage Center and Museum! The exhibit features the photography of Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist, Bob Jackson. Mr. Jackson, a photojournalist with the Colorado Springs Gazette from 1980-1999, has captured the excitement of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb for over 40 years. It was in 1969 when Mr. Bensberg took his first photos of the Hill Climb. Over the years, both photographers have captured the Vahsholtz Family during their rides up Pikes Peak Highway to the summit. See the dangerous turns, the wheels turning and the dust flying in this exciting collection of Race photographs.
