The Colorado College Collegium Musicum Ensemble under the direction of Nancy Ekberg presents their fall semester concert, “Musical Migrations,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 in Packard Hall, featuring early music from the Mediterranean to New Mexico.
Collegium Musicum is Colorado College’s “old music” ensemble, focusing on classical and dance music from the Renaissance and later. Collegium performs on instruments contemporary to the eras being studied, giving students the opportunity to learn recorders, frame drums, viols and more. The group performs many of its own arrangements, and students play a role in the process of re-creating music that, despite its great age, is not forgotten.
The concert is open to the public; all members of the public age 12 or older attending a Colorado College-sponsored, indoor public event will be required to present proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test result, along with a valid photo ID.
