Colorado College presents the next concert in its Distinguished Organist Series at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 at Shove Chapel on the Colorado College campus, featuring Eric Wicks, organ, with Elisa Wicks, violin.

This concert venue is open only to the Colorado College community (Gold Card holders). The concert will be livestreamed on Zoom at https://coloradocollege.zoom.us/j/97936071932 for the general public.

Eric Wicks joined the Colorado College Music Department as organ instructor and Shove Chapel as organist in 2021. Since 2013, he has served on the staff of First Lutheran Church in the Old North End, and he is currently the minister of worship and music with responsibilities that include leading the 70-voice adult choir, playing organ and piano for worship services, providing audiovisual support for the church, and collaborating with both professional and volunteer musicians.

Elisa Wicks is currently the Artistic Director of the Parish House Baroque and serves as principal second violinist in the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs.

The program opens with Richard Lloyd’s Pavilioned in Splendor and follows with two selections from Vingt-quatre pièces en style libre (24 pieces in free style) by Louis Vierne, Chorale No. 3 in A minor by César Franck, Prelude and Fugue in C minor by J.S. Bach, and Cortège et Litanie by Marcel Dupré. Elisa Wicks will join Eric Wicks for two selections from Sechs Stücke für Violine und Orgel (Six pieces for violin and organ), Op. 150 by Josef Rheinberger before the concert concludes with Denis Bédard’s Suite Romantique.

The event is sponsored by the Paul F. Sheffer Funds for Roman Catholic Studies and the Department of Music.
