Documentary Academy Master Class

Join the Emmy Award-winning Heather Courtney, as she presents her latest feature documentary BREAKING THE NEWS. The film premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and broadcast nationally on the PBS series Independent Lens. Seeking to buck the white male status quo, a group of BIPOC women and LGBTQ+ journalists launch a news startup, asking the question “Who gets represented in national news?” Heather will be onstage after the screening with local journalist Kathryn Eastburn. This event is in partnership with KRCC and RMPBS.
