Ivywild Summer Solstice Sound Bath Concert
When
Event Description
Step into the light of the longest day of the year with an immersive two-hour journey of sound, ceremony, and connection. Held inside the historic Ivywild School, this special solstice celebration invites you to realign with nature’s rhythm, honor your own inner sun, and receive deep nourishment through sound and sacred cacao.
The evening begins with a heart-opening cacao ceremony—an ancient ritual known to gently awaken the senses, enhance focus, and deepen emotional clarity. As the cacao moves through the body, you’ll be guided into a live sound bath featuring crystal singing bowls, gongs, flutes, chimes, and classical guitar.
Sound baths use specific frequencies and vibrations to help calm the nervous system, slow brainwaves, and release built-up tension from the body. These tones aren’t just heard—they’re felt. As sound travels through air and water (and your body is mostly water), it can gently shift energy, quiet the mind, and support emotional release and cellular balance. Many people report feeling lighter, more centered, and deeply restored afterward.
Led by Dr. Gigi Turner, Dave Patrick, and Steve Manzo, this concert-style experience blends healing frequencies with musical artistry to create a full-body immersion in peace and presence.
Whether you’re called to reflect, release, or simply soak in the moment, this solstice celebration offers a powerful invitation to reconnect—with yourself, with the Earth, and with the season of light.
All are welcome. No prior experience with sound baths or cacao is needed.
Meet the Musicians
Dr. Gigi Turner, PsyD, founder and owner of Singing Bowls of the Rockies, has created Colorado Springs' premier sound bath sanctuary. Formerly a psychology professor and psychotherapist, she combines her deep understanding of the mind with the healing power of sound. With over a decade of experience and an extensive collection of more than 100 singing bowls, Gigi has guided thousands of participants through immersive and restorative sound journeys. Her expertise lies in crafting deeply soothing experiences that calm the nervous system, promote profound relaxation, and inspire inner healing.
Dave Patrick, a lifelong musician and classical guitarist, brings a rich melodic element to the sound bath experience. With decades of musical expertise, Dave’s playing creates a soothing atmosphere that enhances the resonance of the bowls and instruments, weaving harmonic textures that invite a sense of deep peace and reflection.
Steve Manzo is a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for sound and its healing potential. Influenced by his own experiences with sound baths, Steve brings a unique musical perspective to each session, offering layers of meditative frequencies. Currently studying film and game scoring, his expertise in composition and music production allows him to craft immersive auditory landscapes. When he’s not accompanying Singing Bowls of the Rockies, Steve connects with the local music scene, works on personal projects, and finds inspiration in the sounds of nature.
What is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a meditative experience that uses sustained tones and harmonic frequencies to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and promote deep relaxation. As sound waves interact with the body—composed largely of water—they create gentle vibrations that can help reduce stress hormones, regulate heart rate, and shift brainwaves from an active beta state to calmer alpha and theta states associated with rest and introspection.
Our sound baths feature over 70 instruments, including:Crystal and Tibetan Singing Bowls (with 5 chakra-tuned sets), Crystal Quartzophone Harp, Native and Harmony Flutes, Zaphir and Bar Chimes, Rain Stick, Buffalo and Ocean Drums, Steel Tongue Drum, Handpans, Kalimba, Tingshas, and other traditional instruments used in therapeutic sound practices worldwide.
