More than 900,000 barrels crisscrosses the country each day, according to the federal Surface Transportation Board. If you lined up all those rail cars end to end, it would be about 17 miles long, writes The Wall Street Journal’s senior energy reporter Russell Gold in his recent article, "Dangers Aside, Railways Reshape Cruce Market."

CPR's Ryan Warner talks to Gold about what that means for communities, the environment and the industry.
