"Amy & Sophia," the title characters are walking wounded. Amy was raped as a child and is walled-off and angry. Sophia, who lost her parents at a young age, hides in a fantasy world she creates in her watercolor paintings. Their meeting opens the door to healing through both friendship and art.
Lipsius tells Colorado Matters the film brings Sophia's art to life through an innovative new technique called watercolor animation. "Amy & Sophia" debuts at the Denver Film Festival this weekend.
