Is there a science to missionary work?
For more than three decades, a Colorado Springs nonprofit has been helping Christian missionaries use data to figure out where their work would have the most impact. But on Friday, Global Mapping International (GMI) will close its doors. The agency's CEO and president, Jon Hirst, says the industry of big research and data has changed rapidly and it was difficult to get the funds necessary to compete.
Last month, GMI accepted applications from organizations interested in taking over its data and research. It recently announced nine organizations that will assume the intellectual property.
Hirst spoke with Colorado Matters host Andrea Dukakis.
