Denver Silent Film Festival Starts Friday

Artistic Director Howie Movshowitz says organizers took a "greatest hits" approach to the line-up of the first Denver Silent Film Festival. That means Chaplin, Keaton, the early vampire film "Nosferatu" and what Movshowitz says is the first great gangster movie.  There's also a showing of student-directed new silents and live music to accompany every film. Howie Movshowitz talks with Colorado Public Radio's Mike Lamp about the art of silent films and why most people have never seen them the way they were meant to be seen.
