Rocky Flats Lounge Closes After Fire

For years, Wisconsinites-in-exile like Boulder resident Lori Ramig had a quick shortcut to feeling at home. It was a bar, of course.

But now, that tavern, the Rocky Flats Lounge on Highway 93, is closed after a fire early Wednesday. It's not yet clear what cause the fire, the Boulder Daily Camera reports.

"I've watched the Packers my whole life," Ramig, a Wisconsin native, told the paper in 2011 when the team won the Super Bowl. "This place captures the essence of the spirit of being from Wisconsin."

The bar's owner, Wyman Stacey, says he'd like to reopen, but is waiting for direction from the property's owner.
