Denver Rescue Mission Gets Expansion Approval

A new day center for the homeless has the go-ahead from a court in Denver, reports the Denver Post.

A judge reversed an earlier ruling, allowing the Denver Rescue Mission to open the center near its overnight shelter in Denver’s Ballpark neighborhood. Neighbors opposed the plan, calling it an expansion of the shelter, which isn’t allowed under the area’s zoning.

The court agreed, but after another presentation by the mission, that ruling was reversed.  The mission will open the center for daytime use, without adding any new beds for overnight stays.
