Larry Hulst began his career photographing musicians at concerts in the Bay Area in the 1960s, and in the years since he's snapped photos of everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Stevie Nicks to David Bowie. A collection of his photos are currently on display at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center in an exhibit called Front Row Center

In this interview, Hulst talks with Jake Brownell about his love of music and tells some stories about a few of his photos.

Colorado Springs has seen several popular DIY music and art spaces shuttered in recent months. Chief among these DIY spaces were the Flux Capacitor and Mountain Fold Books.
