“A dream come true.” That’s how Denver food writer Adrian Miller describes the ad he saw in the newspaper. The offer was to become a barbecue judge. So he signed up. That was in 2004 and almost 2 decades later, Miller is thoroughly steeped (maybe we should say marinated) barbecue. His new book is “Black Smoke: African Americans and The United States of Barbecue.”
Editor's Note: Miller is a member of Colorado Public Radio's Board of Directors.
