Crystal River Listed as Endangered River

May 24, 2012

The Crystal River in Western Colorado has made its way onto a list of the country’s most endangered rivers. A national environmental group says the main threat is a new dam and reservoir proposed a few miles upstream from the town of Redstone. But as Aspen Public Radio’s Luke Runyon reports, water providers say the proposed dam may be necessary in the future when water is scarcer.

Aspen Public Radio and KRCC are both members of Rocky Mountain Community Radio.
