Kismet Mosaic to Host Unique "Grout Tasting Workshop" for Mosaic Artists and DIY Enthusiasts
Hands-on class demystifies one of mosaic art's most challenging elements
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Kismet Mosaic will host a Grout Tasting Workshop on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon at its store located at 2433 N Union Blvd. The workshop offers mosaic artists and DIY enthusiasts an opportunity to explore the often-overlooked but critical final step in tile work: grouting.
"Grout can be the hardest part of any mosaic project," says Juanita Canzoneri, owner and instructor at Kismet Mosaic. "Choosing the right color and type of grout can make or break a piece, but many artists struggle with this decision. This workshop will help to take some of the guesswork out of the process."
During the two-hour session, participants will work hands-on with multiple grout brands, exploring both sanded and unsanded varieties. The class will cover how grout functions as a design element, common pitfalls to avoid, and practical techniques for achieving professional results. Attendees are encouraged to bring unfinished mosaic projects and may leave with grout samples and the knowledge needed to complete their work with confidence.
The workshop is open to both beginners and experienced mosaic artists. All supplies are included in the $25 registration fee.
Canzoneri is a self-taught mosaic artist with 24 years of experience. She has taught at Bemis School of Art and other venues throughout Colorado Springs and Denver. Since 2019, she has focused on running Kismet Mosaic, offering supplies, and expertise to the mosaic community, locally and at large.
