Little Shop of Horrors

Event Description
Making its return to The Colorado Springs School stage for the first time since 2002 (and 1996), "Little Shop of Horrors" – with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken – is a gleefully gruesome musical about Seymour, a poor florist's assistant, who allows his craving for fame and fortune to seduce him into playing nursemaid to a man-eating plant from another galaxy.
Named Audrey II after Seymour's secret love and fellow assistant, Audrey, this eccentric plant attracts many visitors to Muschnik florists shop on Skid Row. The main problem, however, is that Audrey II happens to feed on fresh blood! As the plant begins to grow, so too does its appetite and demands. Goings on surrounding the growing plant's demand for more are accompanied by witty parodies of '60s music (a tribute to The Colorado Springs School's milestone 60th year). Between bites, the carnivorous Audrey II brings down the house singing rhythm and blues à la Otis Reading or James Brown!
Join us on Sunday (April 30) for a 2 p.m. matinee!
