Colorado is proposing new rules for the oil and gas industry, which would require companies to make public the chemical composition of fluids used in the drilling process. That process is called hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, and the fluids are injected thousands of feet underground. The public comment period is coming to a close, and the state is expected to hold a public hearing on the proposal in early December.
