Zoom class – Pocahontas Really? What We Know, What We Want, and What It Means

From John Smith's legendary reports, to Disney's animated romance, to Michelle Kwan's beautiful Olympic skating routine,
Pocahontas (aka Matoaka) has survived centuries of interpretations, with varying degrees of accuracy. She certainly
performed many "firsts": a Native baptised Christian, marrying an Englishman, visiting the King of England, and being buried in
England.

History; now Emerita Professor of History, Pikes Peak State College. Kathy started teaching with PILLAR when PPSC first
