Air Check is a new show from KRCC highlighting great music from the Pikes Peak region and beyond.
If you’ve ever been to KRCC and seen the 20,000 CDs in our filing cabinets, and the 20,000 records in our vinyl vault, then you know that we are serious about music. Think of Air Check as a showcase for all the incredible music that lives at KRCC. We’ll introduce you to things you may have missed, take a closer look at genres and artists we think you’ll love, and invite local and touring musicians into the studio for exclusive interviews and in-studio performances.

PART 1: A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE SONGS
This is the part of our show where we share some of the music that's been stuck in our heads the last few months. Here are the songs featured:
Lucinda Williams - "It's Nobody's Fault But Mine (Blind Willie Johnson Cover)"
Kendrick Lamar - "Untitled 02 - 06.23.2014"
PJ Harvey - "The Wheel"
PART TWO: REMEMBERING GEORGE MARTIN - "THE FIFTH BEATLE"
Legendary producer and composer George Martin passed away earlier this month. Martin is perhaps best known for his work with The Beatles on their studio albums, and his contributions to their music earned him the nickname, "The Fifth Beatle." In this segment, Vicky Gregor discusses Martin's work with the Beatles, and considers what the band would have been without him.
PART THREE: AN IN-STUDIO PERFORMANCE AND INTERVIEW WITH HEY MARSEILLES
Earlier this month, Seattle indie-folk band Hey Marseilles came through town to play at Ivywild School. We here at KRCC are big fans of Hey Marseilles, so we took the opportunity to invite them into the studio to play a few songs and talk about their music. Watch a video of the band playing their song "Eyes On You" in-studio at KRCC below!

PART FIVE: AIR CHECK ROULETTE
This is a new segment in which we ask we ask someone to take out their music listening device of choice — a smartphone, mp3 player, etc — and set it to shuffle mode. Then, they play whatever songs come up, and tell us about them, defend them, or otherwise explain themselves. In the first installment of Air Check Roulette, Matt Bishop and Sam Anderson from the band Hey Marseilles give us an unfiltered glimpse into their music libraries.
